Process of decision making identify key decision-making points | Sections 11,12,13,14,15 and 18 of the FSS Act, 2006, and FSS Rules/Regulations, 2011 notified by the Authority delineate the institutional mechanism to take decision in the Authority. All decisions are taken in the meetings of the Food Authority which are generally held quarterly or at the level of Chairperson/CEO where such powers are vested in him under the FSS Act or delegated by the Food Authority. Approval of the Central Government is also obtained where such approval is mandated under the Act. Key decision-making points under Import are clearance of imported food consignments including retesting, Review, Appeal, and other Import policy-related matters. |

Channel of supervision for Import related work at Head Quarter level is with CEO, ED(CS), and Director (Imports).
